This is an excellent quality alternative to that more well-known red aperitif which is the base of so many Spirtzes.  Contratto's Aperitif incorporates 28 herbs, spices, roots, and seeds including: Aloe, angelica, wormwood, safflower, cinchona, bitter orange, sweet orange, lemon, mandarin, hawthorn, cloves, cardamom, licorice, juniper, mint, rhubarb, sage, nettle, ginger.  It is colored naturally with carrot and beetroot extract, no Red No. 40 here...
